Navigate AWS Partner Central Migration to Your AWS Console with Free Support from WorkSpan

Amit Sinha

AWS just announced its most significant partner ecosystem update in years. Partner Central is moving to the AWS Console, bringing Marketplace and partner operations under one unified platform with new IAM-based permissions, enhanced APIs, and streamlined workflows.

By June 30, 2026, every AWS partner must complete a mandatory migration to continue accessing co-sell, marketplace, and partner data and activity.

WorkSpan is an official AWS Launch Partner for this transition. Ahead of attending AWS re:Invent, WorkSpan completed the Migration to AWS Partner Central on AWS Console ourselves—planning, executing and validating the migration in 1 week. Working directly with AWS APN Engineering team helped us best understand where to focus efforts to reduce risk and streamline the partner experience.

Now, we're offering free migration advisory to all AWS partners to ensure you transition smoothly and unlock the new capabilities without disruption.

Here's what you need to know about what's changing, why it matters, and how to complete your migration without disrupting your business.

What's Actually Changing

AWS announced that Partner Central is moving from a standalone portal into the AWS Console, where Marketplace services already live. This consolidation brings Partner Central and Marketplace under a unified interface with IAM-based permissions replacing the legacy role system.

The technical changes include new IAM managed policies, consolidated solution management through Marketplace, updated ACE authentication, and restructured channel operations. But the real impact goes beyond infrastructure.

After June 30, 2026, the old Partner Central portal shuts down. Partners who haven't migrated will be unable to submit opportunities, accept co-sell engagements, approve reseller relationships, or access solution metadata. Your AWS partnership effectively goes dark.

That's the mandatory part. Now for what makes the effort worthwhile.

What You Gain: New Capabilities That Drive Revenue

This migration unlocks powerful tools that strengthen how you work with AWS. As a Launch Partner, WorkSpan has early access to these capabilities and we've already integrated them into our platform.

  • Co-Build: Multi-Partner Solution Bundles
AWS now lets you combine multiple partner products and services into a single transactable offer. Services partners can package their implementations with ISV software. ISVs can create industry-specific bundles with complementary products. These solutions get enhanced visibility in Marketplace and better seller matching.
"WorkSpan gives us a single orchestration layer to build, track, and transact complex joint solutions with ISV partners. We're eliminating fragmented workflows and closing deals faster. This unified approach to multi-partner solutions is a game-changer. "
— Andi Rose, Chief Growth Officer, ClearScale
  • Co-Market: Leads API Access
For the first time, AWS provides programmatic access to marketplace leads through a dedicated API. Combined with WorkSpan's Network Account Master feature, you can now see propensity-to-buy signals and AWS seller coverage data directly in your CRM before you even reach out to an account.
  • Co-Invest: Automated Incentive Qualification
The new Benefits API surfaces MAP, POC, and MDF funding opportunities automatically at the deal level. Your team sees which incentives apply to each opportunity in real-time without logging into separate portals or playing phone tag with your AWS partner manager.
"MAP, POC, and MDF opportunities automatically surface at the deal level, so we can identify high-value opportunities instantly and move faster. What used to take multiple meetings and portal logins now happens in one view. We're accelerating our revenue cycle and we never leave funding on the table."
— Andi Rose, Chief Growth Officer, ClearScale
  • Co-Sell: Enhanced ACE Integration
ACE opportunity management becomes more powerful with improved bidirectional sync, AI-powered deal insights, and complete lifecycle visibility. You can track opportunities from initial lead through closed deal without swivel-chair processes between systems.

Why This Migration Gets Complicated

The benefits are real, but getting there requires careful execution. You'll need to map legacy Partner Central 2.0 roles to new IAM managed policies, link AWS Console accounts with existing Partner Central accounts, migrate solution management to Marketplace, and onboard users with updated permissions.

Common Partner Central 2.0 roles and their corresponding IAM managed policies in the new system.

For organizations with complex channel programs, multiple product lines, or distributed teams across regions, this coordination involves dozens of moving pieces. One misconfigured policy can block opportunity submissions. A missed account link can break your marketplace integration. An incomplete user migration can lock out your alliance team.

We've seen the complexity firsthand because we've done this migration ourselves and with pilot customers.

How WorkSpan Eliminates the Risk (At No Cost to You)

This is where WorkSpan's Launch Partner status makes the difference.

As an AWS Partner Central Launch Partner, WorkSpan developed our migration support program directly with AWS. We helped test the systems, validated the processes, and identified the failure points before general availability.

This puts us in a unique position to guide your migration with confidence backed by real implementation experience.

Our free advisory includes:

🔎 Pre-Migration Assessment
We audit your existing Partner Central roles, Marketplace configuration, and ACE workflows. You get a detailed report showing exactly what needs to change, which users are affected, and where integration points need validation. No surprises on migration day.

🔗  IAM Translation Support
We map your current PC 2.0 roles to the new IAM managed policies and help you configure them correctly. Your teams maintain the access they need without gaps or over-provisioning.

✅  Workflow Validation
Before you flip the switch, we test your co-sell automation, marketplace operations, and private offer processes in the new environment. We catch issues while you still have time to fix them.

👷‍♂️  Migration Day Support
On migration day, we provide real-time guidance and monitoring. If something breaks, we're already connected to escalate directly to AWS Partner Ops.

🔄  Post-Migration Monitoring
After cutover, we continue tracking your environment for 30 days to ensure everything operates normally under production load.

AWS funds this service, which means you pay nothing. We're absorbing the complexity so you can focus on running your business.

What You Should Do Right Now

The migration window opens December 8, 2025. Partners who start early have the most flexibility to test, adjust, and complete the process on their timeline. Partners who wait until spring will face compressed schedules and higher risk.

Your next step: Schedule your free migration consultation.
We'll assess your specific situation, map out your migration path, and get you on the calendar for support. When you schedule, we'll also send you our complete migration resource guide including IAM policy templates, user onboarding checklists, and workflow validation frameworks.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is there any way to extend the deadline?
AWS has communicated that all migrations should happen by June 30, 2025. To ensure a smooth transition, it's best to start planning your migration today.

I'm not a WorkSpan customer. Can I still get migration support?
Yes. Our free migration advisory is available to all AWS partners, not just WorkSpan customers. AWS funds this service as part of our Launch Partner agreement.

What if my team doesn't have AWS Console or IAM expertise?
That's exactly why we're offering this support. You don't need to become an IAM expert. We guide you through the technical requirements and handle the complexity.

Can WorkSpan help with ongoing Partner Console management after migration?
Absolutely. Once you've migrated, WorkSpan provides the most comprehensive platform for orchestrating your entire AWS partnership across co-build, co-market, co-sell, and co-invest activities. Many partners use migration as the catalyst to modernize their entire partner operations workflow.

Will the new system have downtime during migration?
There is a small window of cutover (few hours) working together with the AWS APN team. We will schedule and complete the migration according to your preferred times, and we have a best practice advisory on what to do ahead of the migration to limit downtime (E.g. what to do on your incentive requests), so be sure to utilize the service.

Ready to Start?

Six months feels like plenty of time until you're coordinating IAM changes across five teams, validating integrations for three product lines, and managing user migration for a global organization. That's when six months becomes tight.

WorkSpan completed this journey first as a Launch Partner. We've worked alongside AWS to build these capabilities and prepare for this transition. Now we're ready to guide you through every step from initial assessment through post-migration optimization.

The migration window opens next week. Your deadline is six months away. But the partners who act now will complete the process on their terms, unlock new capabilities faster, and avoid the last-minute scramble that always creates risk.

Schedule your free migration consultation and let's get your AWS partnership migrated, optimized, and ready for what's next.
